## Curriculum

The course contains 27 applied lessons in four modules. Each lesson ends with a distinct professional work product that you can adapt to your own organization.

### Module 1 — Understand the Business and Define the Work

Begin with the manager's authority and the customer's real need. Learn to trace requirements, coordinate team handoffs and check market claims before they shape a promise.

- **Find Your Role and Decision Boundary.** Map a commercial space manager's responsibilities and decision rights, and check role qualifications without overstating experience or authority. Work product: Role boundary and authority map.
- **Turn a Customer Request into a Usable Need.** Turn an ambiguous satellite or space-service request into a customer need intake brief. Work product: Customer need intake brief.
- **Trace Requirements Across Interfaces.** Create a requirements and interface register that connects a customer need to accountable interfaces and acceptance evidence. Work product: Requirements and interface register.
- **Coordinate Handoffs and Bounded Delegation.** Record cross-functional handoffs and practise bounded delegation and coaching when the role includes staff supervision. Work product: Stakeholder handoff and delegation record.
- **Test NewSpace Market Claims.** Assess dated NewSpace market evidence and avoid treating forecasts or contract announcements as realized market size. Work product: Dated market evidence register.

### Module 2 — Win and Structure Commercial Space Business

Move a possible sale from qualification through a priced business case, bid decision and proposal. Record contract obligations and partner dependencies so delivery teams know what has actually been agreed.

- **Qualify a Commercial Space Opportunity.** Qualify a commercial space lead with a buyer, use case, delivery route, timing and evidence-based next step. Work product: Opportunity qualification record.
- **Build an Assumption-Led Business Case.** Build a simple priced business case that separates possible contract value, booked revenue, cost and margin. Work product: Assumption-led business case worksheet.
- **Make a Bid or No-Bid Recommendation.** Prepare a bid or no-bid recommendation grounded in buyer needs, business economics, delivery risks and approval boundaries. Work product: Bid or no-bid recommendation.
- **Plan a Proposal Response.** Create a proposal response and evidence map for a commercial or government space opportunity. Work product: Proposal response and evidence map.
- **Hand Over Contract Obligations.** Translate a signed space-service contract into an obligation and acceptance register for delivery teams. Work product: Contract obligation and acceptance register.
- **Check a Space Partnership Before Committing.** Assess a commercial space partner's fit, capacity, interfaces and dependency risks before agreement. Work product: Partner dependency and diligence record.

### Module 3 — Control Programs, Suppliers and Capacity

Turn commitments into milestones, owners and capacity checks. Manage interface changes, quality issues and supplier disruption with records that support an authorized recovery decision.

- **Plan Program Milestones and Owners.** Plan a commercial space program's milestones, owners and capacity assumptions from its contract commitments. Work product: Program milestone and owner plan.
- **Manage Interface and Schedule Changes.** Control a payload, launch or supplier-interface change through one dependency and decision record. Work product: Dependency and change decision log.
- **Act on Quality and Mission Risks.** Create a risk and quality action register with owners, containment, escalation and measurable follow-up. Work product: Risk and quality action register.
- **Compare Suppliers and Recovery Options.** Compare aerospace suppliers and document a practical recovery plan for a disrupted source. Work product: Supplier comparison and recovery record.
- **Reconcile Inventory and Production Capacity.** Use an inventory and capacity worksheet to test a commercial space delivery promise. Work product: Inventory and capacity reconciliation worksheet.
- **Run a Small Process Improvement Test.** Design a process improvement experiment using baseline measures, a bounded change and a clear review decision. Work product: Process improvement experiment record.
- **Read a Multi-Year Launch Manifest.** Map a multi-year launch agreement to manifest dependencies without treating future capacity as completed service or realized sales. Work product: Multi-year manifest dependency schedule.

### Module 4 — Deliver Services and Support Mission Decisions

Prepare customer acceptance and mission-interface handoffs, then show service performance and exceptions honestly. Test data claims, product changes, traffic warnings and servicing options while routing specialist decisions to their owners.

- **Plan Service Onboarding and Acceptance.** Create a service onboarding and acceptance plan for a commercial space customer. Work product: Service onboarding and acceptance plan.
- **Collect Mission Readiness Evidence.** Organize payload or mission-interface readiness evidence and route unresolved gates to the authorized decision-maker. Work product: Mission interface and readiness evidence register.
- **Route Authorization Questions Correctly.** Map authorization status and specialist referrals without treating a pilot, proposal or rulemaking as a license. Work product: Authorization status and specialist referral map.
- **Show Performance and Exceptions Honestly.** Build a performance and exception dashboard that makes customer and delivery risks visible to management. Work product: Performance and exception dashboard.
- **Brief a Time-Sensitive Decision.** Write an evidence-led decision brief for a time-sensitive commercial space disruption. Work product: Evidence-led leadership decision brief.
- **Substantiate Satellite-Data Claims.** Substantiate a satellite-data product claim with measured quality evidence and appropriate customer wording. Work product: Data quality and claim substantiation sheet.
- **Prioritize Product Changes.** Prioritize commercial space product changes using customer value and technical delivery constraints. Work product: Prioritized product change record.
- **Escalate Conflicting Traffic Warnings.** Prepare a conjunction-warning intake and escalation record when traffic data disagree. Work product: Conjunction-warning intake and escalation record.
- **Compare Servicing with Replacement.** Compare satellite servicing and replacement options without treating an unproven repair concept as established savings. Work product: Repair-versus-replacement option memo.
