## Professional Certificate in Agentic Systems and AI in Work and Business

Agentic AI changes the unit of work. A chatbot usually responds to one turn at a time. An agentic system can interpret an objective, plan a sequence, use permitted tools, inspect intermediate results and continue until it reaches a stopping condition. That extra capability is useful only when the task, permissions and review points are designed well.

This live two-hour workshop gives professionals a practical first experience of that operating model. It is offered in person in Lisbon and as a live online workshop. The date, time and Lisbon venue are announced during cohort recruitment. Every participant works on their own computer and receives setup instructions before the session.

## What you will learn

You will learn to distinguish conversational chatbot use from agentic work; identify business tasks that are suitable for a supervised agent; turn an objective into a bounded brief; decide which tools and information may be used; observe an agent's actions; and verify the final output. Examples connect these ideas to research, documents, analysis, coordination and routine business operations.

The workshop compares chatbot-style use of ChatGPT and Gemini with agentic environments such as ChatGPT Codex and Claude. Guided practice is based on OpenAI ChatGPT Codex applications and the current approved OpenAI models available for the cohort, including GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-6 Astra where available, or later approved models. Access varies by product and account, so the preparation message confirms the exact cohort configuration.

## Live agenda

The session starts with a clear model of chatbots and agentic systems. We then examine practical work and business scenarios, complete one instructor-led exercise, identify a routine that could be partly automated, and translate the capability into a realistic professional next step. Career or income outcomes are never guaranteed; the goal is to help you recognise and apply a current capability responsibly.

## Hands-on participation

This is a bring-your-own-computer workshop. Before the session, enrolled participants receive instructions for applications, accounts and any cohort-specific configuration. During the guided exercise, you define a bounded task, provide the required inputs, observe how the agent approaches the work, review the result and improve the instruction with the instructor. You keep control of permissions, sensitive information, external communication and consequential decisions.

## Instructor

Igor Dmitriev, MBA, MsEM, MsIE, is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MTF Institute in Lisbon. His teaching and applied research connect executive management, digital business, finance, product leadership and responsible technology adoption with the practical decisions faced by executives, entrepreneurs and business owners. His LinkedIn profile is linked from the public course page.

## Enrollment and delivery

The workshop fee is €30, taxes included. Delivery is live in Lisbon and live online. Cohort date, time and the Lisbon venue are announced during recruitment. The Moodle course shell contains participant information and the standard MTF certificate pathway; it does not contain a library of lecture lessons because the learning experience is delivered live.

## Evidence base

The landing page is informed by MTF Institute research into current agentic-work practices, public technical documentation and an independent current-trend review. The evidence supports a practical emphasis on task decomposition, tool use, context, human oversight, verification, privacy and accountable deployment. The linked research materials explain the method, evidence boundaries and limitations in more detail.

## Important boundaries

Agentic systems can make mistakes, misunderstand instructions and take unintended actions. Do not provide confidential, personal or regulated information unless you have authority and an appropriate data-handling basis. Keep human approval for payments, legal commitments, public communications, production changes and decisions that affect people. Always verify the work before use.
