## Professional Certificate in Learning and Development

Turn workplace performance needs into learning that people can practise, demonstrate and apply.

## Practical capability

Build learning around the work people need to perform. Follow a complete performance-to-learning workflow and create reusable professional artifacts at every stage.

- Clarify the work problem, learner context and causes before choosing a response.
- Connect observable outcomes with explanation, demonstration, practice and assessment.
- Prepare and guide purposeful sessions where learners can practise and try again.
- Observe performance fairly and make evidence-based assessment decisions.
- Plan application opportunities, manager support, feedback and follow-up.
- Interpret useful evidence and select a focused improvement for the next decision.

## Who this course is for

A practical route into workplace learning. Designed for beginning and transitioning professionals who need a repeatable way to connect performance needs with useful learning.

## The performance-to-learning sequence

Move from an early request to a focused improvement. Use evidence at each stage to keep the learning response relevant to the work.

## What you will be able to do

Create a reviewable learning workflow from need to improvement. Investigate a performance need, choose a suitable response, design and facilitate relevant practice, assess learner performance, support workplace transfer, interpret programme evidence and recommend a focused change.

## Curriculum

Four modules. Twenty applied lessons.

## Applied capstone

### Recommend and plan one learning pilot

HarborLight Distribution is a fictional home-goods distributor whose customer fulfilment team produces inconsistent shift-handover notes. The operations director asks you to recommend whether to run, revise or decline a bounded learning pilot.

Your task is to analyse the supplied situation and create one decision-ready brief. Select only the course methods that help resolve this situation.

**Primary deliverable: Performance-to-Learning Pilot Brief**

1. Decision and reasoning
2. Performance and cause analysis
3. Pilot outcome and practice design
4. Learner assessment approach
5. Workplace transfer and evaluation approach
6. Non-learning actions and owners
7. Pilot schedule and decision criteria

## How the course works

The course is 100% online and self-paced. A reasonable planning estimate is approximately 24 to 36 hours of focused study and practical work within a study window of up to one month.

Complete 20 original core lessons and a separate applied capstone. Each lesson combines theory, an applied method, a blank template, a worked fictional example and an independent workplace-transfer activity.

### AI-supported practice

Every lesson includes a ready-to-use model-agnostic prompt card populated with the complete fictional case facts needed to produce that lesson's exact artifact. A separate critic card asks you to attach or paste the complete preceding output, and a human verification workflow helps you check the response against the facts and quality criteria before retaining it.
