## International business development vacancies: 36 current postings across seven countries
## A limited-sample employer vacancy study

**Author:** MTF Institute Research Team
**Institution:** MTF Institute
**Research and live-check date:** 2 October 2026
**Countries searched:** United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, Canada, United Arab Emirates and India
**Retained evidence:** 36 unique current strict-role postings; 38 country observations; 36 substantive content expressions
**Design:** Structured purposive sample of first-party employer vacancies

International business development management links market choice to an executable commercial route. The retained employer postings describe managers and leads who evaluate foreign opportunities, establish partner or dealer coverage, adapt a go-to-market approach, and coordinate a launch or staged expansion. The exact direction of growth matters: some employees build exports from their workplace country, while others establish a local market for a foreign company.

This report describes a bounded, non-representative set of employer-controlled vacancies. It is not a census, a country labor-market comparison, or an estimate of the number of jobs available worldwide.

## Selection and count boundary

Researchers screened named employer and applicant-tracking pages for an identifiable role, an eligible employee workplace, a substantive first-party description and a current application route. Strict inclusion required meaningful, recurring responsibility for foreign-market opportunity or entry, partner or distributor route choice, offer adaptation, or staged cross-border growth. A regional title, established customer portfolio, generic account sales or product strategy alone was insufficient. Director and head roles served as progression comparators, not baseline manager evidence.

### Search frame and verification

The searches were conducted across the seven named employee-workplace countries on 2 October 2026 using role and duty aliases including *international business development manager*, *export sales manager*, *market expansion*, *global partnerships*, *regional alliances* and *partner sales*. First-party windows included Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workday, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Teamtailor, Dayforce and employer career pages. Country-specific windows also included Paycor in the United States, Apple’s career site in the United Kingdom, Oracle and Elmo in Australia, and employer-owned Indian careers pages. Search results and recruiter copies were leads only; a counted posting needed a substantive employer page, eligible employee workplace and active Apply, Submit CV, role-specific form or employer-stated application email on the check date. Exact requisition URLs were deduplicated across countries, and near-identical descriptions were checked as a separate content sensitivity. Rejection logs contain repeated search and screening *records*, not a count of unique vacancies. The source appendix lists every retained URL once.

The seven country screens reviewed **138 employee-workplace observations** from **136 exact posting URLs**. An initial duty screen identified **42 possible strict postings** (44 workplace observations; 41 distinct description clusters). Same-day role and application checks retained **36 unique postings**: two had closed and four did not meet the strict duty boundary. These six are excluded from all findings about retained roles below.

| Employee workplace | Reviewed observations | Retained strict country observations | Illustrative retained mandate |
|---|---:|---:|---|
| United States | 40 | 6 | Foreign-market assessment and entry or partner plans |
| United Kingdom | 22 | 7 | European/international partner and country programs |
| Singapore | 43 | 11 | APAC and ASEAN partner-led expansion |
| Australia | 5 | 0 | Export and product comparators only after strict-scope review |
| Canada | 7 | 4 | Both Canadian export growth and inbound Canadian entry |
| United Arab Emirates | 9 | 5 | MENA market, corridor and partner development |
| India | 12 | 5 | Overseas distributor and dealer development |
| **Country observations** | **138** | **38** | **36 unique global postings and content expressions** |

The retained country counts sum to 38 because [OpenFX](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/openfx/jobs/4777895008) covers eligible U.S. and UAE workplaces and [Taptap Send](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/TaptapSend/2c3018d1-6fcf-431a-9ffc-0ac84bbc6786) covers eligible U.K. and UAE workplaces. Each is one exact posting globally. Australia’s zero is confined to this small screened set; it does not mean there are no suitable Australian jobs.

The planned study target was **100 unique suitable current vacancies**. The initial 42 possible postings fell short, and the searches did not establish that fewer than 100 suitable jobs were accessible. The project owner directed completion with the smaller set of **36 verified postings**. This decision does not imply that fewer than 100 suitable jobs exist or that the sample represents any labor market. All findings below use the 36 verified postings and the country counts shown above.

## The work visible in retained postings

**Evaluate and prioritize markets.** The U.S. [Antares](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/antares/1d84daa2-3e11-4701-8d6d-43b1ac8591ac) manager assesses foreign markets and prepares entry strategies. [Bluebeam](https://careers.nemetschek.com/bluebeam/job/business-development-manager/1362619555) maps emerging markets and feeds localization needs to product teams. The [NFL](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/nflcareers/jobs/5371436008) role develops business cases for growth across territories. In Singapore, [Xendit](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/xendit/jobs/7984045003) compares candidate markets and access routes, and [Wise](https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/Wise/744000150973389-senior-business-development-manager-south-east-asia) develops Indonesia and Philippines opportunities. These examples support a market-selection work product that states opportunity, constraints, economics, partner route and a recommended next step. The specific model depends on the employer and sector.

**Build the partner route.** U.K. [Alarm.com](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/alarmcom/jobs/8606829002) recruits international dealers and develops partner go-to-market plans. [Apple](https://jobs.apple.com/en-gb/details/200679826-2114/international-business-development-manager-apple-services) develops Central and Eastern European partnerships and commercial programs. Singapore-based [Wrike](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/wrike/jobs/4736573005) builds Southeast Asian partner coverage, while UAE-based [FAAC Technologies](https://careers.faacgroup.com/p/f03094af366d01-business-development-manager-middle-east-africa) evaluates system integrators in priority countries. India-based [Stefab](https://www.stefab.com/careers.php) and [Maharshi](https://www.maharshi.com/job/international-business-development-manager) develop overseas dealers or distributors for machinery. Across these distinct models, a useful output is a documented partner shortlist with selection reasons, open risks, coverage gaps and launch steps. U.S. [ITA guidance on evaluating foreign representatives](https://www.trade.gov/evaluate-foreign-representatives) provides a separate evergreen practice check on partner history, references and routes to market; it is not a vacancy observation.

**Turn opportunity into an executable plan.** [Taptap Send](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/TaptapSend/2c3018d1-6fcf-431a-9ffc-0ac84bbc6786) ranks countries and payment corridors, selects partners and coordinates launches. Singapore-based [ServiceNow](https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/ServiceNow/744000153081494-partner-sales-manager-distributors-apac) recruits distributors in priority APAC markets and develops joint plans. Canada-based [Caframo](https://jobs.dayforcehcm.com/en-US/caframo/CANDIDATEPORTAL/jobs/433) evaluates international growth markets and recruits distributors. Dubai-based [Column](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/column/1c1b450f-a1a4-4ac5-8332-9a5b37ca59ef) evaluates bank partners and builds repeatable onboarding pathways. These roles connect assessment and relationship building to a concrete launch, channel or commercial decision; none defines a universal template for every company.

**Coordinate specialists and delivery.** [OpenFX](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/openfx/jobs/4777895008) selects banking and crypto partners and coordinates integration across jurisdictions. [Soter](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/soterinsure/04e1a3f7-1684-4e70-ad8c-ce1924d52a78) builds MENA broker coverage and evaluates local fronting partnerships. [Plexus](https://www.plexuspharmaco.com/job-opening) develops foreign-market, distributor, pricing and distribution plans in a medical-products context. [SpaceX](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/spacex/jobs/8647689002) develops foreign government satellite-communications opportunities. These illustrate very different regulatory and product environments; one sector’s controls cannot be copied to another. U.S. [ITA market-entry guidance](https://www.trade.gov/selecting-international-markets) identifies attorneys, customs brokers, logistics providers, accountants and banks as specialist counterparts. A commercial manager can frame and coordinate a decision, but must use the employer’s legal, compliance, finance and delivery owners for specialist determinations.

## Geography changes the meaning of “international”

The **employee workplace** and **target market** are different fields. Canada illustrates both directions. [Caframo](https://jobs.dayforcehcm.com/en-US/caframo/CANDIDATEPORTAL/jobs/433) and [ALS](https://alsglobal.wd103.myworkdayjobs.com/external/job/North-Vancouver-British-Columbia-Canada/Business-Development-Manager---North-America_R7080) use Canada-based managers for outward international growth. [Alta Ares](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/alta-ares/51639916-2c3e-402d-b7e6-db7863b8fb82) and [Airwallex Canada](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/airwallex/ca79dd32-6757-478d-8c60-598c7cbf3bce) use Canada-based managers to establish Canadian partnerships for foreign firms. UAE workplaces can carry wider MENA mandates; Singapore workplaces can carry wider ASEAN/APAC mandates. India’s retained examples are more explicitly export-led, including [AGD Biomedicals](https://agdbio.com/careers/) and [Miraclus](https://miraclus.com/jobs/International_Sales_Manager.php?city=Anywhere+in+india&jobID=100042&jobTitle=International+Sales+Manager). These statements describe the retained sample, not national occupational norms.

Australia also tests the role boundary. [Premier Fresh](https://premierfresh.elmotalent.com.au/careers/workwithus/job/view/143), [Australian Country Choice](https://fa-eslq-saasfaprod1.fa.ocs.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/CX_1001/job/526) and [Tesla](https://www.tesla.com/en_AU/careers/search/job/business-development-manager-strategic-market-expansion-megapack-energy-279808) were initially considered for the strict group. Review of their full role descriptions found export-account, preselected-portfolio or product/use-case work without enough assigned country-entry or partner-route choice for the defined strict role. They remain adjacent comparators and contribute zero to the retained denominator.

## What the ads leave open

The 2 October check verified each retained role’s identity, workplace, application path and scope. Detailed tools, qualification status, work cadence and formal decision rights were not checked uniformly across the 36 roles. For those fields, this report has **no validated disclosure denominator**:

| Evidence field | Retained-subset verification |
|---|---|
| Employer, role, workplace, application route and short role-scope claim | Rechecked for all 36 unique postings |
| Named tools and systems | Detailed disclosure count not recertified |
| Education, experience and required/preferred status | Detailed disclosure count not recertified |
| Daily, weekly, monthly or event cadence | Detailed disclosure count not recertified |
| Final approval, signing and escalation authority | Detailed disclosure count not recertified |

Silence must be treated as unknown, not as proof that a tool, qualification or routine is unnecessary. A travel frequency or office schedule is not a daily work cadence; a reporting line is not a contract-signing or credit-approval limit. Employer-specific policies must define pricing, contract, credit, licensing, hiring and escalation authority.

For this study’s composite role, we did not identify a one-to-one U.S. occupational classification in the [official SOC structure](https://www.bls.gov/soc/2018/soc_structure_2018.pdf). [O*NET’s Sales Managers profile](https://www.onetonline.org/link/details/11-2022.00) covers some export and distributor tasks, while its [Marketing Managers profile](https://www.onetonline.org/link/details/11-2021.00) includes business-development titles. These are adjacent occupational lenses; their wages, growth and broad task frequencies cannot be assigned to this composite international role.

## Limits and practical use

This was a structured purposive search across selected employer and ATS windows, not a finite enumeration of vacancies in seven labor markets. Technology, payments, defense and industrial export are especially visible; healthcare, consumer goods, trade support and less-indexed employers are unevenly covered. Search results can outlive a closed first-party posting, as the two LITTLE TREES closures showed. The seven substudies logged **307 rejection/screening records**, not 307 unique vacancies or proof of search exhaustion. Some India employer pages lack formal posting dates or requisition numbers; four other India records remained conditional and were excluded. The retained role-scope checks were made on 2 October 2026, but pages may change after that date.

For hiring or training, the evidence supports assessing observable work: a market-selection rationale, partner-screening record, entry or expansion plan, commercial proposal, and handoff of specialist decisions. These are **analytical work-product recommendations**, not universal required documents or claims about every employer. Each organization must adapt them to its sector, target countries, seniority and delegated authority.

**Rights:** This report uses original short paraphrases and direct links rather than full job advertisements or applicant information. U.S. occupational and export guidance is separately attributed and does not become legal advice for other workplaces or destination markets.
