## Build a resume that shows coordinated biotech delivery

This resume template is for a professional applying to a scoped biotech project or program management role. It helps you show how you turn an assigned objective into a plan, coordinate the relevant scientific and business workstreams, track risks and resources, and prepare decisions for the accountable owner. Adapt it to the exact vacancy and to work you have actually performed.

An applicant tracking system (ATS) reads the text before a recruiter may review the page. Clear section names, recognizable role terms and specific evidence of your work help both readers. The strongest resume is truthful and selective: it connects the employer's stated needs to your own documented actions and results. It does not imply that coordination gave you authority to approve clinical, scientific, quality, regulatory, legal or financial decisions.

### Make the document easy to read

- Use a single column with ordinary text headings such as Professional Profile, Core Skills, Experience, Tools and Education. Keep contact details in the document body rather than a header, footer, image or text box.
- Use plain bullets for achievements. Avoid tables, icons, graphics, progress bars and decorative columns that may change reading order when parsed.
- Write acronyms once with their full term when useful, such as contract research organization (CRO), then use the familiar acronym consistently.
- Match the role title and relevant terms from the vacancy in natural language. Do not repeat a keyword without a genuine example of using that skill.
- Save in the file format requested by the employer, use a simple file name and inspect the exported document to confirm that dates, headings and bullets remain in order.

### Contact and profile pattern

Put your name first, followed by city and state, a professional email address, a phone number, and an optional professional profile URL. A street address, photo, birth date and personal details are unnecessary for this template. If the vacancy has a location or work authorization question, answer it through the employer's requested process rather than placing an unsupported claim in the resume.

The professional profile should be two or three lines. Name your actual level and biotech context, then connect two or three relevant capabilities to a credible output. For example, a candidate with project coordination experience might emphasize integrated timelines, dependency follow-up, a risk and issue log, and decision-ready status updates. A scientist moving into management can lead with the scientific work they performed and the coordination they can substantiate. Avoid calling yourself a regulatory, clinical or quality decision maker unless that was your real delegated role.

### Select skills and keywords with evidence

The following terms reflect work found in the U.S. biotech management vacancy research. They are a menu for truthful tailoring, not a list to paste wholesale. Include a term only when you can point to a project, deliverable, training record or work example that supports it.

| Work area | Useful terms when they match your experience | Evidence to show in Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Project and program delivery | Integrated project plan, milestone schedule, dependencies, workstream owners, status reporting, decision log | A plan you maintained, a handoff you clarified, or a decision update you prepared |
| Risk and resources | Risk and issue log, escalation, resource planning, capacity assumptions, budget tracking | An issue you surfaced in time, a resource conflict you quantified, or an approved change you tracked |
| Cross-functional coordination | Research and development, clinical operations, regulatory affairs, manufacturing or CMC, quality, finance, external partners | Which counterparts you coordinated, what information moved between them, and who decided |
| Vendor delivery | CRO or CDMO coordination, supplier milestones, statement of work, acceptance criteria | A vendor dependency, deliverable review or escalation you managed within your authority |
| Decision communication | Stakeholder updates, meeting facilitation, options analysis, executive briefing | A concise report, decision package or meeting record that moved work forward |

For tools, name only systems you used. In the sampled postings, Smartsheet, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint appeared as exact names; clinical systems such as EDC, CTMS and eTMF applied to particular clinical settings. Describe what you did with a tool: maintaining a dependency schedule in Smartsheet says more than listing the product alone. Employers may use other systems, and transferable functions matter.

### Turn responsibilities into achievements

A strong experience bullet connects **action + scope + work product + effect**. Write the part you personally did, include a meaningful scale or metric when you can verify it, and name the resulting change without taking credit for a specialist's judgment. Consider these patterns:

- Maintained an integrated plan for [workstream or project], aligning [number or types of teams] around [milestones or dependencies]; [verifiable delivery effect].
- Built or refreshed [risk, issue, decision or status record], giving [accountable owner or team] a clear view of [blocker or choice]; [specific follow-up].
- Coordinated [vendor or cross-functional handoff] by confirming [inputs, owner, date and acceptance point]; [verifiable effect].
- Prepared [resource or budget view] for [decision maker], separating confirmed figures from assumptions; [decision or planning result].

Use numbers only when you can explain their source. A precise scope, such as three workstreams and a monthly review cycle, is more useful than an unsupported percentage. If the work was shared, use verbs such as coordinated, maintained, prepared or contributed that accurately describe your contribution. Do not turn a team's scientific result, trial decision, filing or financing outcome into your personal achievement.

### Tailor before submitting

1. Read the vacancy for its actual program stage, required experience, work products, interfaces and named tools. Mark which requirements you can support with evidence.
2. Choose the closest truthful role title and revise the profile and Core Skills to reflect that vacancy. Keep specialist terms only if your own experience supports them.
3. Rewrite the first three or four bullets of the most relevant role around the employer's priority outputs. Show your action, scope and result; check every number and date.
4. Remove weak or unrelated bullets, unsupported tools and unexplained abbreviations. Make sure education and any credential exactly match your records.
5. Export in the requested format, read the file as plain text to check ATS order, and proofread the visible version before applying.

### Common failure patterns to correct

- **Keyword stuffing:** Listing regulatory strategy, clinical operations, CMC, product management and investment analysis together without evidence makes the role claim less credible. Select the terms the vacancy needs and that your record supports.
- **Unclear ownership:** “Led filing approval” is misleading if you coordinated a timeline or prepared a status update. Name the real deliverable and the specialist who owned the decision where that distinction matters.
- **Task-only bullets:** “Responsible for meetings” gives no work product or effect. State which decision, owner, dependency or next action the meeting clarified.
- **Untraceable metrics:** A large percentage without a baseline or source is hard to defend. Use a count, timeframe or qualitative result you can explain.
- **Dense design:** A two-column layout, text box or graphic can scramble reading order. Test the export and use readable text headings.
- **One resume for every path:** A project-manager application needs different evidence from a product, business-development or regulatory specialist application. Retain the same truthful history, then select the relevant work products and terms for the target role.
